Tustin City Council Meeting - Public Input
Dates: 9/20, 10/4, 10/18, 11/1
Each meeting we politely request the City Council to put us on the agenda for the following meeting in order to discuss our legitimate and well-documented concerns surrounding Smart Meters. We would like our city to take action against the Smart Meter by placing a moratorium or taking other actions to protect the health, safety and privacy of residents in Tustin.
Our elected representatives on the city council continue to ignore these requests.
Who are they representing?
Irvine City Council Meeting
Date: Octobr 25, 2011
Location: City Council Chamber, One Civic Center Plaza, Irvine, CA
Non-Agenda Item of Concern:
Residents who are opposed to the blitzkrieg Smart Meter Installation which is sweeping Irvine and the rest of Orange County are invited to speak up and help raise public awareness about this issue. Whether you choose to speak or not, please help pack the City Council member chambers–to show our City Council that we want environmental impact report, more safety measures, and the City Council to support an Opt Out for Smart Meters. Public Comments will be heard at 6:30 PM, 3 minutes each. New Yahoo Group has formed.
Related Agenda Items of Concern:
4.7 Approve a lease with Southern California Edison for the construction of a Zero Net Energy Home at the Orange County Great Park.
- How much electrosmog will this SCE "home" emit? Radiofrequency-controlled Smart meters, new appliances, wifi, cordless phones, baby monitors, all emit RF radiation. To protecte the public including those chldren, pregnant woman and those that are electrosensitive, what notification will SCE provide?
- Compact fluorescent bulbs promoted widely by environmental groups, are now being condemned for their mercury contamination and high EMF pollution. Will SCE be using these hazardous bulbs?
- Numerous peer-reviewed studies document harm by wireless technology to humans, animals, insects, amphibians, and plants as well as many first person accounts of harm. How is SCE addressing these concerns?
- SCE, please address the studyby researcher Alfonso Balmori of Spain who found that:
“microwave and radiofrequency pollution constitutes a potential cause for the decline of animal populations and deterioration of health of plants living near phone masts.”
- More questions and concerns for SCE can be found here.

“I’ve never did any of this sort of thing before. But when you tick off the sleeping mamma…. We have a core group of a few people who are spreading the word quickly. SCE is deploying (am I in a war?) at a rate of 3000 per day. I think everyone senses the urgency to get the word out.
